IMified, Gtalk, and Mobile Access
After trying to hack around the built in blog-via-email that refuses to work, I decided to take a slightly different approach. I can Twitter via Gtalk (especially useful since T-Mobile has blocked Twitter)… why can’t I do other things that way too?
Enter IMified - “instant productivity”. A totally free service (for now), they let you access multiple web applications via IM and your “widget list”. They support a number of web apps, including Remember the Milk (online to-do list, famous for being one of the first to use Google Gears), Google Calendar, and several blogging/journal sites.
It’s not perfect, but IMified is a great starting point. Much easier to add a Gtalk contact than 10 new Blackberry apps (or worse, 10 new bookmarks in my mobile browser).
